Introduction
This five-day course teaches practical skills for reading, preparing and analysing core financial statements. You will learn how balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements connect to business decisions. The course focuses on hands-on work: realistic adjustments, ratio analysis and cash-flow reconciliation. That matters because lenders, investors and internal decision-makers rely on accurate statements and clear interpretation.
Objectives
2. Reconcile net income to operating cash flow and identify the primary drivers of cash movements.
3. Calculate and interpret key financial ratios for liquidity, solvency, profitability and efficiency and summarise findings in an actionable one-page scorecard.
4. Assess the impact of common accounting policies and estimates (revenue recognition, depreciation, provisions) on reported results and explain those effects to non-accounting stakeholders.
5. Use financial statements to evaluate creditworthiness, working capital needs and valuation inputs, and make clear, evidence-based recommendations.
Who Should Attend
1. Financial analysts (junior to mid-level) responsible for modelling and reporting.
2. Management accountants and cost accountants who prepare internal reports.
